Multi-device sync lets you use the same Nessie library from more than one device.
After Cloud Sync is enabled, each device gets its own device record. The device syncs local changes up to Nessie Cloud and pulls down cloud changes made by your other devices, MCP clients, team shares, and API-key devices.
How to use it:
- Sign in to Nessie on the first Mac
- Enable Settings → Cloud sync
- Let the first sync complete
- Sign in to Nessie on another device
- Enable Cloud Sync there too
How conflicts work: Cloud Sync merges graph changes across devices. Once a context is enrolled in collaboration - including when it is shared - its Markdown, title, and emoji use a synchronized document, so concurrent app, CLI, and MCP edits on that route converge instead of choosing one device's whole document. A private context that has never been enrolled can retain the legacy local write path until Cloud Sync or sharing promotes it. Folder placement, provenance, and other graph metadata continue to sync as node and edge changes.
Device identity: Each device is tracked separately. API-key devices are labeled by their API key name, and app devices are labeled by the device record created during sync.
