Grok Bot connector

Connect Grok Bot to Nessie's hosted MCP server so it can search, read, and use the context in your Nessie library. The setup has two parts: the MCP connection exposes Nessie tools, and the official Nessie skill teaches Grok Bot when and how to use them.

Requirements:

  • A Nessie account
  • Cloud Sync enabled in Nessie so the hosted MCP server can read your synced library
  • Grok Bot with access to custom remote MCP servers and private skills or workflows

Paste this into Grok Bot:

Then install the official Nessie Grok Bot skill. Do not write a short homemade version.

Download that exact SKILL.md and install it as my private Nessie skill or workflow. Follow it exactly.

After the MCP connection and skill are in place:
1. Confirm Cloud Sync is on in the Nessie app.
2. Run "Nessie check-in" and list the integrations you can browse.
3. Search one recent topic in my library and show a real result so I know the connection works.

If anything fails, report whether the problem is authentication, Cloud Sync, a missing MCP tool, or the skill install, and give me the next step. Do not use the local nessie CLI.

Grok Bot should open Nessie's OAuth authorization flow. Sign in with your Nessie account, click Authorize, and return to Grok Bot. Start a new Grok Bot session if the newly installed skill or MCP tools do not appear in the current one.

Updates:

Automatic update checks are available in Nessie skill version 0.1.3 and later. The first time you use Nessie in a session, Grok Bot checks for a newer skill and asks before refreshing it. Nessie's hosted tools stay current automatically.

If Grok Bot does not check for updates, ask it to install the latest official version:

Update my installed Nessie skill to the latest official version from https://github.com/nessielabs/nessie-grokbot.
Re-download the exact file at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nessielabs/nessie-grokbot/main/skills/nessie/SKILL.md and replace my installed Nessie skill or private workflow with it. Do not shorten or rewrite the file.

Troubleshooting:

  • Authentication fails: Reconnect the Nessie MCP server and complete the OAuth card. Do not paste an API key into chat.
  • Results are empty or incomplete: Confirm Cloud Sync is enabled and has completed at least one sync. Follow any Cloud Sync notice returned by the Nessie tools.
  • Tools or skill are missing: Confirm the MCP URL is exactly https://mcp.nessielabs.com/mcp, install the full official skill, and start a new Grok Bot session.
