Data storage

By default, your data — synced conversations, generated contexts, and your profile — is stored locally on your Mac.

If you enable Cloud Sync, your contexts, conversations, chats, profile, and source graph metadata are stored on Nessie's servers so they can sync across devices and be used by MCP, Teams, and API-key devices. Cloud Sync data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard infrastructure controls.

Provider credentials and browser sessions are not synced. They stay local to the Mac where you connected the provider.

Where your local data lives: The local copy of your data is stored in the Nessie application support directory on your Mac. When Cloud Sync is enabled, a cloud copy is also stored in Nessie Cloud for sync, MCP, Teams, and API-key devices.

Deleting your data: Go to Settings → Data Controls to see your total storage usage. You can delete all data and sign out at any time. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
